The British Astrological and Psychic Society affirms its belief in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in which Article 18 states that everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion.
A great Teacher once said “by their fruits ye shall know them” and that is the only way anyone should be judged, by what they do and how they do it.
Responsible students or professional psychics, clairvoyants, astrologers, palmists etc., consider it very important to live their lives and do their work within a spiritual framework, for with awareness of the more subtle levels of our being, also comes a sense of unity, brother/sisterhood with all of Creation.
To harm another is to harm all, including oneself. It is also believed that each person has the right to find their own destiny and to follow the dictates of their own conscience and for this reason, do not attempt to force their beliefs onto others, unlike many of those who oppose them.
Regretfully there are those who perceive all things "psychic", "esoteric" or "occult", as being anti-religious, and in more extreme cases as being definitely evil. Although it cannot be denied that there are those who would, and do, misuse both psychic abilities and esoteric knowledge, it cannot be ignored that there are people in all walks of life who seek benefit at the expense of others, often through the performance of criminal acts.
Psychic gifts are, in essence, no different to any other human ability and should be considered as equally God-given as any other.
